Can a small businesses infuse a social purpose into their work and use their audiences to do transformative things? I absolutely believe the answer is yes—and the Misfit team are demonstrating what an impact it can have.

I am a huge fan of the Misfit team, who have partnered with their awesome community and with Lessons for Life to make an impact in a truly valuable way.

30 million children in sub-Saharan Africa have not received even a basic primary education. Lessons for Life Foundation is aiming to get 50,000 children into school by 2017.

Lessons for Life work with local partners in some of the toughest places to help educate the most disadvantaged children. They also train teachers and make sure the classroom is a safe and inspiring place to be. They invest in quality, with grants for teacher training projects and improvements to the school environment.

We all know that education changes everything. I believe small businesses can be instruments of change and I’m blown away by what I’ve seen and learned from Misfit.

Please help me do my small part in supporting this awesome program by helping me raise the $500 I’ve committed to.

If you know me well, I’ve probably bought you lunch or coffee a time or two. You can return me the favor by contributing to this effort. :)

Whether you chip in $10, $30, or $100, your donation means a lot to me. Thank you!
